About

I am a wife, mother of 4 adult children, and grandmother of 3 little boys. I am a certified Health Minister, living a plant-based lifestyle for over 20 years. I teach the benefits of God's original diet, vegan cooking classes, and healthy living workshops.
My first book, SMASHING IDOLS: Transform Your Body, Mind, and Spirit with a Plant-Based Lifestyle, was published on 9/12/21.
My next book, "Peeling Potatoes: Katie's Story," is Book 1 in the ROCKED IN THE CRADLE OF COAL series, which was published on 6/19/22. This series of chapter books is historical fiction for middle-grade children. It focuses on the lives of early 20th-century immigrant children growing up in the anthracite coal regions of Pennsylvania. In the early 1900s childhood was short and never having enough was everyday normal.
Book 2 in the series, "Tell Me About My Father: Wasyl's Story." was released on 2/7/23. This book follows Katie's brother, Wasyl, at a time when there were few labor laws, and many children quit school early to work in the mines. Nine-year-old Wasyl longs for his absent father and tries to come to grips with the answers to his questions. Sometimes there are no easy answers.
Book 3 in the series was just released in November 2023. "From the Mine to the Mansion: Ann's Story," features thirteen-year-old Ann as she bravely steps into the role of an adult working full-time in service to a wealthy family. The early 20th Century was an era of clear distinctions between "the haves" and the "have-nots," a thought that had never bothered Ann before.
Ann and several other female servants in the mansion share all the trials and adventures of teenage life in 1913, while navigating the culture shock of living between rich versus poor and child versus adult. In the process, Ann finds new friends and support from unexpected sources. She discovers that people everywhere are just people, and we all must help each other.
